Concept 6

Noun: Destruction- the act of destroying.

Verb: Regenerate- to re-create, reconstitute, or make over, especially in a better form or condition.

Adjective: Circumspectly- watchful and discreet; cautious; prudent.

Circumspectly observing ones destruction of self causes a need to regenerate. Experience the rise and fall of life expectations and choses. Reconstruct during a time of deconstruction.

  1. I find this one difficult to connect to as the others before. The idea of watching the destruction of yourself, does this pertain to the idea of the death of the old self and birth of the new? How does this regeneration process begin and sustain? Or is it even about the self? Does it go beyond the body and to the world?

Reconstruction versus deconstruction and life versus death draw a nice comparison to the important components of life as we know it. The combination of these opposites results in the confusion and disruption of nature. Self regeneration also adds depth to a project that can make many social comments.

  4. Regeneration is inevitable in terms of the decomposition of matter. Consider the many artist and designers who work with sustainable designs for the benefit of man. http://www.ted.com/speakers/kate_orff.html

  5. Decay is inherent in all things,. Explore entropy and consider not only reconstruction, but prevention of decay. Very dark concepts, I like the thinking.

  6. This concept could be explored through the human epidermis. How the human skin is constantly dying and regenerating could be a perfect vehicle to explore this methodology.
